TO OUR DEAR CUSTOMERS,
Below is a partial list of possible places to obtain your pet’s favourite things. We originally intended to list products by category and then with a list of suppliers. This has proved to be an impossible task and would have ended up being a book rather then a few sheets of advice. We stocked over 3000 items so how could we decide which items we should list and which we needn’t bother with? We decided in the end that what we can do is make some general recommendations and then provide a list of reputable shops we know of, along with a partial list of manufacturers with ranges that we stocked.
Our 1st recommendation is our friends at Natural World Pet Stores. Staff from Pet Mart have moved to Natural World and we have been friends and buying partners with the owners for many years. We know they always keep to the same high standards of animal care that we’ve aspired to.
They have 2 locations; Natural World Pet Stores 1181 Melton Rd Syston, Leicester, LE7 2JT 0116 260 2001. This store is about 8 times the size of Pet Mart. They have a very large aquatic department as well as stocking a large selection of all types of livestock except reptiles. They do however stock reptile food and supplies as well as everything else you would expect in a superstore. They usually have a good choice of birds including hand reared parrots. We’ve always loved this store.
The second address is Natural World Pet Stores 36 Market St
Loughborough, LE11 3ER 01509 219179. This store is about the size of Pet Mart but does specialize in reptiles and all reptile supplies.
We realize that those two shops might be too far for most people to travel to on a daily basis. We’ve made contact with the closest pet shop to us which is Chambers Pet Centre on the High Road just past the Durham Ox. Arrangements have been made for them to start stocking the insect live foods from our previous supplier. Gavin Chambers, the owner, is keen to help customers obtain any products that he currently doesn’t stock but which customer previously purchased from us. I think that will include frozen reptile food as well as Quantum dog food. Gavin also tells me that they operate a delivery service similar to our own. Our own Jackie will be moving to work in the shop part time and will be glad to help as always.
